How to Use the Baby Care Log

Use the Feeding Log to jot down each feeding's time, type (bottle, nursing, or solid food), and amount. Use the Sleep Log to record each sleep session's start and end time — the duration is calculated automatically, including overnight sessions that cross midnight. Click "Copy Daily Summary" to grab both logs as plain text to share with a partner, caregiver, or pediatrician.

Example

Logging a bottle feeding of 4 oz at 8:00 AM, then a sleep session from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, shows the feeding entry alongside a sleep entry automatically displaying a duration of "1h 30m".

Common Use Cases

  • Jotting down feeding and sleep times throughout the day to share with a partner or nanny.
  • Printing a daily summary to bring to a pediatrician appointment.
  • Spotting rough feeding or sleep patterns over the course of a single day.

FAQs

  • Does this replace a dedicated baby-tracking app? No — this is a session-only reference log kept in your browser, useful for jotting things down during the day or printing a daily summary. If you need ongoing, persistent history across days, a dedicated baby-tracking app is a better fit.
  • How is sleep duration calculated for sessions that cross midnight? If the end time is earlier than the start time, the tool assumes the session crossed midnight and adds 24 hours before calculating the duration.
  • Is my baby care log saved anywhere? No — everything resets when you reload the page, since it's kept only in your browser for the current session, so copy the summary before closing the tab if you want to keep it.
